hdd - c drive

Hi I have been having many problems recently with my computer, ads etc. I
purchase Norton Internet security 2006 yesterday, loaded it, and it found two
adware spyware programmes running. Norton has dealt with this which is
great, but a problem that I still have is when I start my computer and log in
it automatically is loading my c drive on the screen. I have no idea how to
stop this. I presume it is set somewhere to do this. I have tried my help
centre with Packard Bell, but as I dont know what to ask advice on, I am
stuck. Can anybody tell me what to do.

Thanks

Try going to run, type:MsConfig In MsConfig, open start up,look for anything
pertaining to C: loading, when thru,if nothing found select cancel to exit. You
might, install xp cd,exit the info page,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
Sfc /Scannow When its thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,type:EXIT
Restart computer,remove cd.1 last place,open event viewer,get details from
it when it loads C:

Andrew thanks for your help, I have tried the first part but nothing found.
Unfortunately Windows xp was loaded on my computer when I first purchased
from Curry's and I never received any disk with it, so I am unable to do the
second part. thanks for your help anyway, much appreciated. If you can
think of anything else, please let me know.
