HD Timeout Error Event

J

Javier Perez

Hi

I keep getting some ATAPI errors on my event log and I wonder why. I looked
for it on the support databased but could not find anything. I have a Maxtor
disk drive.

Based on some googling advise, I downloaded the PowerMax utility from
Maxtor, but it gave a clean bill of health to my hard disk.

Aparently to me, the HD is working fine, but I still wonder.

Here is a sample of the error messages:

Here are a few problems I have found in the past
with some of my disks:
- Works well when warm but fails when cold (can apply to
the disk or to the controller).
- Marginal ribbon cable.
- Position-sensitive (suggesting interference from other
devices).
