Having Trouble closing windows and Internet Explorer- Please help

I run my laptop on Windows XP. I access my intrenet through broadband and I
have wireless modem/router in my home. After using internet, when I try to
shut down my laptop, it does not close but after a while a message box opens
with a heading "IExplore.exe" and some process starts but the computer fails
to shut. Some times after three or four tries it finally shuts down.

I also have Mcfee security installed on my laptop
