Having headings retart numbering

I have used Headings for well over a decade. Unfortunately, I can't get Word
2007 to work like 2003. The system I always used was based on the following
model:

Heading 1: Flush Left beginning with Roman numeral “I.†followed by ¼ inch
hanging indent
Heading 2: Indent by .25 inch with enumeration beginning with “A.â€
Heading 3: Indent by .5 inch with enumeration beginning with “1.â€
Heading 4: Indent by .75 inch with enumeration beginning with “a)†Etc.

So what you would see is something like this:

I.
II.
A.
1.
a)
b)
2.
B.
1.
2.
C.
III.
A.
B.
1.
a)
b)
2.
C.
1.
2.

Unfortunately in Word 2007, if I move say from the first heading 1 to the
second instance of Heading 1, the Heading 2 will continue the numbering from
the last use. In other words, instead of Heading 3 starting anew at 1, it
will continue the numbering from the last use. This renders the automatic
numbering utterly useless.

Any thoughts on what to do?

Place the insertion point in a Heading 1 paragraph. On the Home tab, click
Multilevel List, and then click Define New Multilevel List. You'll now see
the Define New Multilevel List dialog box (which is similar to the Customize
Outline Numbered List dialog box of Word 2003), and it will allow you to set
the restart options. Note that you may have to click the More button to see
all options.
