Hello.
I bought a pc from hp and i used the original license of windows xp that i
had in my old pc.after installing the windows and all the drivers a problem
came upp.
when i restarted my pc i couldn't come in in the windows.it started loading
windows and then it froze.now i have to restart several times until i can
come in in the windows i keeps hanging every timeatt the same spot.
i have repaired from the cd but it keeps on hanging.
could it be some thing with the drivers?

hmm, could be that the new install is trying to activate your new install,
but stalls. maybe doing a reinstallation or repair via the new install
option in windows setup will help. if you do, be sure to disconnect "all"
your hardware, eg, telephone wires, broadband, printers... these items can
be installed via desktop later. ps: are you planning in transferring and
connecting your old drive to your new pc?

If your saying this was a clean install, did you install mobo chipset and
other drivers from hp?

i have formated and installed the windows several times.
i have checked the disk for errors but everything seems to be okej.
the only one i have transfered to the new pc is a sata harddriver and all
the drivers i have taken from hp.
i downloaded everything from hp home page.

i have downloaded everthing from their home page.

The sata driver may be specific your new PC mobo, so the old sata driver may
be no good
(sata driver is for the mobo to allow it to access a sata HD and or raid, it
is not a HD driver)

so i should do what?
it work with hp recovery disk before i installed the xp.
so why would't it work now?

You stated in an earlier post that you took the sata driver from an old pc.
So are we talking about a new PC or what?

it's not a hole new it has been used for about 3 months.
when i bought the pc i nstalled the sata driver on the motherboard and it's
drivers.everything worked pefectlly.
after 1 month i wanted to install my own windows xp professional which i
have bought.and then came the problem.the hp is working with cd recovery for
home edition and i wanted to use xp professional.

I have found the sollution it was a problem with the hard driver which was
connected with the sata card.when i took it off everything worked perfectly.
But the odd was that i had formated the hard driver and there was no problem.
When i tried to write something in that driver the hole pc frozze.
So now everything is perfect.

Thanks for the help.
