Have I got a "Head Banger!"

Hello, This post has less to do with Windows XP than it does with
Norton Antivirus, but in some way it has to do with the use of WIN XP.

I've been using, "Norton Anti Virus 2005". Then I decided to load,
"Norton Internet Security", an upgraded program, which physically
includes Norton Anti-Virus.

When I attempted to load, "Norton Internet Security", an error message
stated that I must DELETE Norton Anti Virus first.

I did that that with another computer, and with my modem it took 4+
hours to download over 38MB's of Definitions into Norton Internet
Security. Don't want to do it again! The first time my PC was knocked
off-line, half way through. The instructions from their tech people
were so darn complicated, I deleted everything and started all over
again. What a waste of my few precious years left on earth.

Now, finally, my question: What can I do to SAVE the updated
Definitions currently in Norton Anti-Virus, then delete the program,
then run Norton Internet Security, and then transfer the Definitions .
Any help should be specific because my 78 year old brain is slowly
turning to Gorgonzola cheese. Maybe that's why I have such a head
banger!

Thank you very much, even if all I get is some sympathy

For questions with Symantec products contact Symantec technical support:
http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/nav/nav_2006_contact_tscs_solve.html

Here's a tip that will help you in future: Before you install software be sure to study the entire procedure. Manufacturers' web sites typically have complete instructions. For example, Symantec has a knowledgebase (library) with detailed procedures on how to install Symantec software applications.
