hate MS

All I did was update my bios & add a new dvd drive and I'm no longer allowed
to activate windows automatically but have to do it over the phone!
Wonder if there is any way of getting microsoft corporation to give me a new
product key.

Updating your BIOS was the same as installing a new motherboard as seen by the OS.
Instead of bitching, activate windows over the phone, it is an easy task (unless you have a
non-legal copy?).

Yeah, scumbag, take the MS virtual equivalent of being jerked out of
your car, slam dunked onto your hood and frisked! It's amazing how so
many people accept this crap as if it were normal.

1) BIOS update is not = installing on a new machine-microsoft ought to do
better.
2) It's humiliating activating over the phone being asked crap questions
(which increase in number each time you have to activate) and being treated
like a wrong-doer.
3) Don't accuse me of bitching when I wasn't-just complaining.
5) My XP is legal, you over-zealous nutcase.
4) I should not really be replying to you as my standard policy is to avoid
POND-LIFE.
Take care.

I, on the other hand, received, just today, my quarterly Microsoft dividend
check. This leads me to my suggestion for you or others similarily situated:

Buy another copy of XP. You can't go wrong.

Why don't YOU buy another copy of XP, that way you'll be increasing your
next dividend and that should make you exceedingly happy.

I never get that when I reactive my windows xp thru the telephone, and they
do not ask you a crap of questions, just if you bought your software retail
or was it pre installed. Are you afraid of answering?? I never feel like
a wrong doer as you put it reactivating when I have too. I just
reinstalled my as I updated my motherboard, ram, and video card and had to
reinstall, also my bios!!
3) Don't accuse me of bitching when I wasn't-just complaining.
Sounds like you are doing both!! Grow up and call, don't whine!!

No, it isn't. Nowhere in the EULA does it mention the motherboard or the
BIOS.

According to MS, they're not supposed to ask any questions other than
what the code is.

Whine? Why should someone have to prove they are not a thief to MS?
Please quote the appropriate LAW that says you should. You can't.

As a Microsoft Partner, I get mine at a substantially reduced price (<$20
each), but thanks for the suggestion.

It may be one of the last ones. Everyone and their brother is leaving MS
for Ubuntu. Sell short.

Why should he?

I won't even use something that sounds vaguely foreign (i.e., Forte), so why
would I consider Ubangi? I do wish all those affliced with MDS well,
however... Someday there might be a twelve-step program.

As for going broke, Microsoft has cash and other short-term assets greater
than the state budget of California.
Why should he?

Oh. He's having trouble with re-activation. I was just suggesting he could
start fresh. My motto is: If you have a problem that can be fixed with
money, you don't have a problem - you have an expense.

Xenophobia is a problem for some, I agree.

Now. ATT used to have a monopoly too. Sell short.

Why should anyone have to pay twice for the same thing?
