Hardware wizard

The "add new hardware" wizard wakes up evertime the
computer is started up, advising me that it has detected
a new printer that was installed incorrectly and advising
me to go through the installation process. Every time
I've done so the installation "failed". Interestingly the
printer functions perfectly. Is there any way to disable
this confused "wizard"?
