hardware upgrades

How to upgrade new motherboard with on board audio
without getting windows error message: "inaccessible boot
device"....tried to use system repair as per article
#287043. Used "R" emergency option without success.

Any suggesstions?

Just run an upgrade over existing installation (not repair). The problem is
not in your audio driver, but in hard disk controller, which is probably
different.
