Hello Group

I possess a HCL Beanstalk with Microsoft XP installed in
it. I wanted to enquire as whether I can add an external
soundcard to my pc? If yes then which is the best
compatible model/make which is suited with this model.

I would also like to know whether this model (soundcard)
will enhance the audio quality of my pc? Also where will
I find these external soundcards. I am basically putting
up in New Delhi and I have enquired to many of the places
about the soundcards which are compaitible to Microsoft
XP but to no avail.

Your urgent reply will be of great help to me and it will
definately be appreciated.

Several companies make PCI sound cards that are compatible
with XP. If you have no sound card at present, any sound
card made in the last year or two should give you good
stereo sound if you have quality speakers. If you want very
good sound you need to get a 5.1 or even a 7.1 card that
will support multiple speakers in surround sound.

You can get sound cards that have an external "breakout box"
that connects to the PCI card and has volume controls and
ports on the box which can be placed in reach in front of
the computer. Or you can get a PCI card that has all the
connections on the card in back.

Best is hard to say, most work well, what features do you
want and how much do you want to pay?

Try a Google or search www.pricewatch.com The prices listed
may not apply in India, but you should be able to order and
get delivery from almost anywhere.
