Hardware Profile/Configuration Recovery Menu at bootup

I have Win XP Pro SP2, Dell D505 laptop, and the Hardware
Profile/Configuration Recovery Menu appears every time I boot my system.
Right before this menu appears on the screen, my system beeps a few times. I
am prompted to select a hardware profile even though I have only one profile
on my system. There is a 30 second countdown on the screen to select a
profile. No matter which profile I select, I can boot into Windows normally.
Every time I reboot my system, this recovery screen appears. I didn't make
any hardware changes on the system; this problem just started one day. All
my devices/drivers under Device Manager are functioning properly. I tried
adding/removing hardware profiles in Windows, but the recovery menu still
appears. I have upgraded the BIOS to the latest version and flashed the BIOS
a few times also with no luck.

Dell was unable to solve the problem over the phone, so I sent my system in
for service. They replaced the keyboard and that stopped the beeping noise,
but the menu still appears. I don't want to reformat my hard drive if
possible. Any advice?
