HARDWARE PROBLEM - Please help! :(

Thanks for looking :)

My old motherboard crashed so I bought a new CPU, MB and memory. I had
a P4 with DDR mem - I got an Intel Dual Core 3.0 MHz, DDR2 mem. All
other periphs were the same -- but now I get the Blue Screen
occasionally telling me I have "hardware problems."

Did I need to do something different to XP Pro to let it know my
hardware is different? It seems to recognize the processor MB amd
memory...

I'm at wit's end - thanks for any and all help!!!!

With a new motherboard, it's a fair bet lots is different... best bet
would be to do a "Repair Install" of XP. That'll fix it. Check
Google.

Did you get an installation disk with the new mb? and if so, did you install the drivers for the mb?

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so
just fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup
doesn't get to see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for
those who read all the newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they
see the message multiple times instead of once (they would see it only
once if you correctly crossposted instead). This wastes everyone's
time, and gets you poorer help than you should get.

If you must send the same message to more than one newsgroup, please
do so by crossposting (but only to a *few* related newsgroups).

Please see "What is the accepted way to share a message across
multiple newsgroups?" at http://smjg.port5.com/faqs/usenet/xpost.html

You do a repair install from the XP CD, then install the motherboard
drivers. Then re-do all the Windows updates.
