Hardware damage - need help

I have a problem with my son's computer.
Last time the case of the computer was opened a wire must have gotten in
the wrong direction.
When closing the case again a black and yellow wire got squeezed very badly.
While the computer was working still for a while it passed out after
installing a second hard disk.
My son forgot to shut down the computer and pull the plug.
So we got a new transformer ( the one which is changing the electricity
from net electricity to 12 volt )
Everything was working again.
Until my son was moving some wires slightly.
This time the computer was shut down before.
He could not start the computer again.
He brought the " transformer " to the shop.
Yes it was broken.
He got a new one.
He started the computer again and the ventilation started for a second
or two and then nothing again.
This happen 2-3 times.
Now nothing again, dead.
I took then the case of the computer off and so i noticed the damaged
wires ( black and yellow )
The 2 wires are leading from the start bottom of the computer to the
mother board.
I don't know if the copper wire was cutted through but the insulation
was very flat.
I now have cut the damaged parts off and soldered those wires together.
Nothing happens.
Do i have to buy a new " transformer " again and if i buy one again was
the damaged wire/wires what was costing the problem ( and costing me 2
transformers so far )?

Hello;
I would suggest you unplug the power supply and take the complete
computer apart and see if you can see any wires shorting to the case. There
is most probably still a bare wire in there somewhere.
If you do not find any bare wire touching the case, then reinstall parts
inside the case and try turning it on again. If it fails to turn on, unplug
the power supply wire going to the motherboard, short the cmos jumper for
about 30 seconds, then plug the power wire back on the motherboard. and try
to power up the computer again. Still no luck, take it to a qaulified
technician.
