Hard drive won't let me boot windows, and now I can't get My Docum

So my hard drive "died" yesterday. Basically there are some bad sectors and
now WindowsXP SP2 won't boot. I bought myself a new hard drive and installed
windows on that. It can see my old drive ( now D: ), and read files just
fine. The problem is that I encrypted the My Documents folder
(right-click->Advanced->"Encrypt contents to secure data") months before the
hard drive crashed, and now the new installation of XP won't let me copy
those files: "Access Denied".

Is there any way I can get those files back? If I reinstall windowsXP on
the old drive, will the user accounts be the same so that I can try to copy
the files to the new hard drive?

Johnny,

Simply restore your "My Documents" from your backup!

Wot?! You don't have a backup? I bet you will after this!

I hope someone can tell you how to get your encrypted files.

Cheers.
