my c drive is out of space but my d drive has 19 gig
available. Can I change the size of the partitions
without loosing everything?

I assume your C: and D: are logical drives on one physical drive. You can
change the partition sizes with software such as Partition Magic. XP
contains no utility to do this.

If you are using NTFS, make sure you do not have quotas set on your
partition(s)or expand the size of the quotas.
