?hard drive prob.

I recently fitted a 3rd hard drive to my m/c. It was recognised, so just to
test if it was ok, I installed Windows xp on it. Everything went ok, I was
satisfied, and as I did'nt need the o/s, I formatted the drive. Now however,
when I start my computer up, it tries to boot into the formatted h/d and I
get the error message "system32\hal.dll missing"! I do not want this o/s
restored, I just want to boot into my proper o/s. How can I do this?
Thanks if anyone can help me.

Use the recovery consol to repair the boot record or run a repair install of
win.

By testing in the way you did you buggered up the boot record.
