Hard drive not working

I have just got a new Extrenal Hard drive that is plug and play. the only
trouble is it does'nt play on my laptop but on others peoples. has any one
any ideas....please
 
How about asking the manufacturer of the drive? Or the manufacturer of the
laptop?
