Device manager identifies my hard drive as scsi, when it
is ide. any suggestions on how to fix?

If the hard drive is connected to a different controller other than the
standard IDe ports, the the Windows system (98 or greater) will treat this
new controller as a SCSI controller, That is why the hard drive is listed
as SCSI.
