Slave drive not showing up

I have just installed a new hard drive ( Master) and installed xp on it. My original drive has win 98 on it and that is now my (Slave). I have checked the jumpers settings and they are correct. When I go to explore my slave drive is not listed. When I go to Device manager it is listed under hard drives as a SCSI drive , it's an IDE drive. My master drive is also showing in device manager as a SCSI drive and that too is a IDE drive. How can I make my slave drive accessible
Thanks

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
click on Disk Management.

It should now show up on the right hand side of the screen and you can
assign it a drive letter here.

Do I have to change the slave to a dynamic drive? I see the drive listed on the right but when highlighted the only choice is delete partition or convert to a dynamic drive
Thanks

Joe, do you have a Raid Controller and are using the Raid Channels? If
so, switch to regular IDE Channel. You could
also try cable select for both drives. Is it showing up in the Bios?
