Hello,

For some reason one of my 2 hard drives disappeared
today. I can't seem to locate any files that used to be
on it. Eash HD has 4 partitions. Last week 2 of the
partitions swapped letter drives (D: and G: switched).

ANy suggestions how to recover the missing HD?

Regards, Christopher

Hi,

Start/run diskmgmt.msc, do you see the hard drive listed? Do you see the
partitions on it?

This can be a simple problem of a loose IDE connector or the connector
may have come off the drive. However, it sounds like your second
hard drive may have failed. Download the maker's utility to check
the drive.

For example: If the drive was made by Maxtor, go to their web site
and download their drive diagnostic software. (it's free) Use the
diagnostics to check the drive. If you feel comfortable about
opening up your computer, remove the case and check the cabling before
doing anything else.
