Hard drive compatibility

Joe

I recently purchase a new hard drive to upgrade the
general storage capacity of one of my computers. The hard
drive was manufactured by Hitachi. The model number is
IC35L120AVV207-0. This specific hard drive is not on the
HCL for Windows 2000.

I want to know if there is an updated driver subsystem
patch for Windows 2000 Pro that will enable this drive to
boot once the install process has been completed? I have
two identical computers as far as system boards is
concerned. My other system uses Win2000 Pro fine but has a
smaller hard drive that is made by a different
manufacturer.

I would like to receive an answer to this to my email addy

The drive really isn't the issue, it's the drive controller that the OS
needs to be able to communicate through.

This drive is supported just fine by Windows 2000, I have 14 of 'em. If your
BIOS supports drives of that size then you'll be just fine, otherewise
you'll need to update your BIOS.
