Hard Disk

I installed Win 2000 prof addition in one Hard Disk, added
it to a system, which is having Win XP pro edition. I kept
XP Hard Disk as a master and win 2000 loaded hard disk as
a slave. HDD detected fine and working fine.
when I opened through my computer icon the Second Hard
disk drive, opening normally. If I opened through explore
its taking few minutes to open the same drive.
Pl help me in this regard, any problem with my system. My
system is HP-Compaq new workstation with licensed version
of Xp software.

Windows XP does not like another primary partition with active and boot
label which is marked by you win2k installation, and trying to change them.
I doubt if you can boot from you 2nd HD anymore even if you put them back
into single HD condition.
By the way, what is the point to add 2k system on a 2nd HD to your existing
XP on the 1st HD? Anyway, you would not be able to boot from your 2nd HD at
all unless you use some 3rd part boot manager, even if that, it is still
very tricky to boot from 2nd HD. That is the nature of all MS OSes. You have
to use either XP's dual boot or other bootmanger to boot from other
partition, but in both case, the boot partition should be on the first HD as
primary partition, even if windows can be installed on other partition, but
the boot code must be loaded from the first HD, active partition, or C: to
windows.
