Hard Disk Volumes

I previously shrank the partition on my hard disk that holds my restore
files. This left almost 12GB of free space on my hard disk, but it still
will not let me extend my boot volume. I have tried both the Disk Management
and the diskpart.exe commands, and neither will work. Any suggestions?

Hi,

To extend a volume, the free space must reside immediately after the volume
as seen in disk manager. If the free space is before it, or after another
contiguous volume, then you must employ a third party tool to "slide" them
into the proper positions.
