When I got my new computer a year ago it came with win98, With the
help of Partition Magic I created a separate partition on which I
installed Windows XP Pro.

Now, I'm totally satisfied with XP and I'm also short of disk space
and so I'd like to get rid of win98 which is on a 10 gb partition. How
do I do it without messing up my XP?

Here are some more relevant info:

1) The Partition Magic is installed on Win98. If I get rid of win98,
does that mean I don't have partition magic any more? What if I want
to install a different OS in place of win98 later?

2) I tried to install Partition Magic on XP and when I open it I get
all sorts of error messages (error 110) and the bootmagic won't open
(error says sorry, have to close application).

Thanks for your help.

Pete

You would be better off to create an image file of the XP partition with a
program like Norton's Ghost. Once you have this done format the entire drive
and then run Ghost to place the image onto the drive using the entire space
available.
