Happy New Year! iTunes no longer imports my CDs correctly.

All of a sudden, since I downloaded the newest version of iTunes, my iTunes
no longer imports my CDs correctly. For example, previously (prior 12/25) I
imported to iTunes the 13 songs from Rolling STones' Bridges of Babylon and
played in on my iPOD. After updating my iTunes, the importing happens (in
seconds) and the library lists the 13 songs as each having a time of
789:57:13 or 789 hours, 57 minutes, and 13 seconds. The total time for the CD
in the library is 427.8 days and the number of kilobytes used for the 13
songs is 733.8 kb. When I attempt to play the CD, the cursor races through
the 13 songs on the playlist without making a sound.

I'd be interested in recommendations. My plan is to reinstall an older
version of iTunes. I hope that works.

Sounds like as good a plan as any? Something at/near the following links
