Hangs non-stop

Jack

Hello,
Config:
P4 2.6C
D865Perl mobo
DDR400 2GB
Seagate 250GB x 1
Maxtor 160GB x 2
Radeon 9600

My system hangs non-stop, I reboot the computer then hangs on startup again
.. I have run Anti-spyware and Anti-virus. Didn't come up with anything
What else can I check? Might it be hardware or spyware problems?
Thanks
Jack

I have re-installed the system. After 2-3 days later,
the same situation came back again.
therefore I don't think there is any capacitors blown out....
Thanks

Click Start>Right-click My Computer>Left-click Hardware>Device Manager
Does any of the Hardware there have a yellow ? mark beside it?
If it (Graphics, USB, whatever) does, update the Drivers from the
Manufacturer's website

And, if you have just reinstalled XP, have you installed all the priorty
updates and Service Packs from Microsoft?
What do you have XP SP1, SP2, or SP3?
Right-click on My computer>Properties to see Service Pack you have.

There is still another Service Pack 3 for you to download.
But, it should be stable at SP2

Are you gaming, or running resource hungry Programs?
Right-click My computer>Properties>General>how much RAM do you have?

Look in the Event Log to see if any pertinent errors are recorded.

You're not doing too well today, mate. The OP wrote and I quote:

I'd think on power consumption - may it be that 3 HDD got too much power and
cause hangs?
