Hanging quotes and parenthesis

If my memory serves me, earluer versions of WORD would alert me if I had a
hanging parenthesis mark ( or quotatioin mark ". (this means that you have
an opening one, but no closing one. such as in this example that does show a
closing one).

If that functionality does exist in word 2003, or 2007, I'd sure like to
know how to activate it

Have you tried running spell check (press F7)?
