Hanging Indent Default

In Word 2003 all of a sudden when I manually move the hanging indent over to
..5' it will not stop exactly at .5. When I go into Format Paragraph the
Hanging Indentation is set to .49'. I have to manually change it to .5'. Is
there a way to get this back to allow me to set it at .5' without having to
change it every time. Other users around me are able to set it right at .5'
by just moving the marker on the ruler.

Thank you

Insteading of using the mouse, try pressing CTRL+T once. Each time you press
CTRL+T the hanging indent increases by .5". To decrease, press CTRL+SHIFT+T.

Thank you for the response. This is good to know. Is there a fix for the
initial problem though. The user thinks this remedy is a "workaround" not a
"fix". She would like her initial issue fixed.

If you hold the ALT key while dragging the indent marker (to override the
document grid settings), you should be able to set the desired value
directly. Note, however, that it will be easier to create a style with the
desired indentation already defined, and then apply that style as needed.
