Hang when surfing internet

Hi there, is that anyone facing this problem before when using winxp pro edition. No problem with connecting to internet but when surfing half way the whole pc hang and need to use reset to restart the computer. Can someone help or comment on this problem will be appreciated. thanks a lot.
 
I am running Windows XP Pro with an AMD Athlon XP proccessor (1.35ghz)and I
have use reset to restart. I would like to know what is causing this also. I
had this problem earlier and it got increasingly bad I ended up doing a
complete system restore.

But now I have too much data archived to do that again.
