Half size ATX mid tower case ??

I'm looking for a pc case that is about half the size of a atx mid tower. Is
there such a case size?

Shuttle makes some Flex-ATX boxes with Intel 865 chipset. Alienware also
has a small system like this.

Sure, but you're drifting into a proprietary size if you're not
wanting a miniATX or ITX, so the particular motherboard and other
devices needed, will have to be taken into account when choosing one.

What exact configuration did you want, not only the hardware but also
shape and orientation (desktop or minitower, etc)?

If the motherboard is still mATX sized, you may find a FlexATX case
with half-height card slots, or if the motherboard is ITX sized, then
of course you can use an ITX case like this:

Ok, but I was just looking for a case that is a little smaller than a mid
tower, but can still hold a ATX motherboard. Just something with a lower
profile.
