Had a serious prob with my laptop, it had the gomyhit virus, I downloaded the
spyware program, spyware doctor6...which seemed to work, but then it
appearantly removed the log in/off command point, because the virus had
infected it... so it was deleted....now I can't log on. When I do log on, it
just logs straight out!!What do I install to make this work , and how do I
install it if I can't log on?? The gomyhit virus infected a lot of programs
and now I have to try and reinstall them. Please can someone help...

Try to log into Safe Mode and try System Restore before and run these
cleaning steps:
To Restore your System try this:
Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories>> System Tools >> System Restore
and pick up an earlier date to restore your system!
Run a thorough scan by doing the following steps:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

You can download this tool o run clean up:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds/downloading-slim
Run this command:

If you can''t then take the machine to your local repair shop or If you are
savy enough you can use the System recovery to recover from corrupt registry.

whenever an infection
is removed, the system
files that were corrupted
need to be replaced with
genuine ones from the
win cd via a method known
as "repair installation".

further, since your system
is unstable then it is likely that
the other programs are
dysfunctional as well.

i would not consider using a
system restore feature because
you would likely be restoring the
infection as well.

if you choose the repair installation
method, the process will delete all
the old restore points and create
a new one, which is an added
benefit since all the old restore
points may be corrupted anyways.
