Hacking advice?

Hi -

I was hacked about a week ago, and my registry was
exported and some icons were moved around. I looked at the
service logs and saw that there is a registry checker
starting up. Here is the message that is in the
log: "Application popup: : Machine Check: Regs." I was
thinking that the hacker somehow has control of my
registry. I also changed my workgroup and my box says that
it is still a part of the old workgroup: "The workgroup is
not accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the administrator of this server
to find out if you have access permissions. The list of
servers for this workgroup is not currently available."
The same thing happened when I got locked out of my
router's root account. (I now have a firewall on it. I'm
sharing it out with NAT in Linux) Any ideas would be
greatly appreciated.

To secure your computer and prevent future security breeches,
consider installing a first-rate internet security program:

Norton Internet Security 2004
http://www.symantec.com/sabu/nis/nis_pe/

-- Includes Norton AntiVirus 2004
-- Includes Norton Personal Firewall
-- Includes prevention of annoying web pop-ups
-- Includes Parental Controls
-- All in one, easy-to-install package
