GUI problem

Hi,
I use win2k SP4 on my laptop (512M RAM). In the last few
month I go a strange problem, after I open 5 to 8 windows
(explorer, outlook, acrobat reader, notepad .) I can not
open any more windows and cant open the menu on any open
application. If I close one application window (using the
X) I can see the menu items again and open a new
application window (only one).

Any explanations /suggestions? Thanks.

check your pagefile size it should be 3X the size of your
memory size. run chkdsk /f (requires reboot) and defra
your drive. make sure you are not out of disk space as
well.
