Hello,

I am using XP Home SP2.

I have turned off guest account but all the folders under Documents and
Settings are still there. Any way to get rid of those?

Regards,
Bob Brannon

turn on the Guest account,
log into the Guest account,
select all the folders in the Guest account,
press Delete, and
empty the Recycle Bin.

sorry i was thinking of folders/files in My Documents (for the Guest
account). i was not thinking of folders under Documents and Settings as
you clearly stated. so apply what i said only to folders/files under My
Documents in the Guest account. once the Guest account is turned off,
there is no need to delete it's folders from Documents and Settings.

please accept my apology for misunderstanding your question.

I would like to delete them though so they do not take up space, but I do not
want to just delete them from Explorer if that might cause problems. I no
longer will use the account at all.

page 1050 of Windows XP Inside Out states
you should not move, copy, or delete entire profiles directly from
Windows Explorer. Instead, you should use the User Profiles dialog box.
To get there, right-click My Computer and choose Properties, or choose
System in Control Panel. On the Advanced tab, click Settings under User
Profiles.

page 1051 continues
From the User Profiles dialog box, simply select a profile and click
Delete. Deleting profiles in this manner ensures that the appropriate
profile also gets removed from the registry.
