Grouping Similar Email Addresses When Sorting by From/To

In Outlook 2003, when a folder is grouped and sorted by the From or To
column, email addresses with slight variations show up as separate
groups. For example, each of the following would be a different group:

(e-mail address removed)
'(e-mail address removed)'
Smith, John (where Smith, John is actually (e-mail address removed))
John Smith (where John Smith is actually (e-mail address removed))

Is there any way to teach Outlook to group all of the above email
addresses under one heading?

Sorry, there is a typo below that might make my message confusing. The
first two email addresses in the list should be identical, other than
the presence of single quotes around the second one.
