Group Policy

Hi, to all of you,
I am a IT teacher. At school we have 2 computer rooms with 20 pc's in each
having XP pro.
what i want is to have a policy for student users that will prevent them
from changing desktop background, appearance, Themes, screen saver, mouse
pointers
etc... although they have a limited account.
I know there is a way to do it using my computer|manage ... but not exactly
how.

Please someone indicate a site or reply with full detailed explanations.

Hi - I help out at my son's school (the tech director is a good friend)
and he has set up the computer lab (one room, about 40 XP Pro boxen)
very well. You definitely need to have a server and domain setup. Once
you have that, you can control everything centrally. If you only have a
workgroup (really not recommended, but...) then you can still set up
the computers' interfaces by using the Group Policy Editor. Look at the
Administrative Templates under User Settings. Make one workstation
exactly the way you want it and then image it (assuming all
workstations are the same hardware). Another thing we run is a program
called DeepFreeze, highly recommended.

If you are unfamiliar with Group Policy Editor, spend some time
exploring it and then you can post questions about it in this
newsgroup: microsoft.public.windows.group_policy
