Hi,

I am just wondering if the group policy is still active on a server if the
server cannot contact the domain controller.
I am weighing up the merits of all the security settings being applied using
group policy to using a combination of group policy and local security
settings such as user right assignments etc.

Anyone have a doc on this ?.

Cheers,

DC.

if you login to the pc an it cannot contact the DC I'm pretty sure it uses
the last group policy settings that were applied. On a further note...when
you disjoin a pc from a 2k/2k3 domain the local gp is once again applied to
the computer with the factory settings.
