Group policy wallpaper - Cached?

Hi,

I´ve deployed a bitmap wallpaper to a group of machines through Active
Directory Group Policy. This wallpaper is accessed through a network
share.
I understand that once the wallpaper is downloaded from this location,
it is stored in the user´s profile (typically C:\Documents and Settings
\<username>).

Does anybody know if this is really so? In such case, where is the
wallpaper stored locally?

Thanks!

This would be an excellent question to post in
microsoft.public.windows.group_policy, I think.

%userprofile%/Application Data/Microsoft should be where the wallpaper bmp
should be stored.

The wallpaper would be there if you set it manually. But not through
Group Policy. Actually, I´m pretty sure that in this case the file is
not stored with bmp extension either in the user profile.

As near as I can tell it isn't on the local machine. It points to a location
in the registry, HKCU\Software\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System. It
also doesn't seem to take effect. Looking into it.
