Group Policy Editor unable to open

When I type in "gpedit.msc" at the command prompt, I get
the error "Failed to open the Group Policy Object on this
computer. You may not have appropriate rights. Details:
Unspecified error". I can view the policy through other
tools, and I can connect to other computers and view
theirs, but I cannot open my own. Any ideas?

Hi,
Are you using Windows XP Professional or Home Edition?

gpedit.msc is only available on WinXP Professional.
