Ok....on our local XP machines we have a theme option but under, the DC there
isnt one,any ideas, its the same .ADM file...thanks?

If you upgrade the policy for Windows XP you can do this. Look at:

307900 Upgrading Windows 2000 Group Policy for Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=307900

Don't upgrade any of the default policies. Create a new policy in an
OU and modify it.
The policy you want is located under:

User Cconfiguration -> Administrative Templates -> Control panel ->
Display -> Desktop Themes

and is called "Load a specific visual style file or force windows
classic" .

This will only apply to the WIndows XP machines.

Thank you for your reply,But why isnt in the on the DC and only the XP local
GPEDIT, its the same ADM, Does 2000 not support the themes,

Windows 2000 does support Themes but there was no provision in the
WIndows 2000 Group Policies for control of them.

You can try to configure the policy and see if the Windows 2000
machines will accept this part of the policy but I can't guarantee
that it will.

So its possible not all things in th XP system.adm template will work with
2000 gpo's?

If you upgrade an Active Directory GPO to support the new Windows XP
policy settings, Windows 2000-based clients ignore any Windows
XP-specific settings. This behavior occurs on a per-setting level; if
a policy object contains a policy setting that is unsupported, all
other supported policy settings from that policy object are applied.
