Forget a important warning maybe about shared PCs and it might
also be problems with MSAS ?

"Warning: The Toolkit is not intended for use on family computers as a
parental controls measure — many of the security features may have
adverse effects on family computers. Be sure to review the Handbook
section on restricting children on a family computer if you are
installing the Toolkit at home."

Thanks, plun--both good ones.

I've got the shared PC tool in a USB key--I expect it to be very useful, but
haven't made use of it yet.

I've used it on one machine so far.. I locked that sucker down so
tight that when it farts it calls Dolphins!

I think everything it does can be achieved with policies and by
editing the registry.

I haven't yet tried the Disk Protection, that's something I'll be
playing with later this week. We use DeepFreeze on site, and it
will be interesting to compare the two.

MS is already down in points because it requires a dedicated
partition for it to work. :-/

Thanks--I think I have a laptop I can use for experimentation with this
sometime later in the week--looks like there's some learning curve involved.

My first tip -- don't install it while logged on as the user you want to
restrict. I ended up with *no* users displayed on the Welcome Screen, I had
to log in with CTRL-ALT-DEL (x2) and type the username and password.

LOL! I'll definitely remember that one.
