Graphics jumpy on my Sony S560 laptop

My laptop uses a geforce go 6400 gpu, but whenever I move the curser or watch
video I keep seeing a stutter effect.
With the curser it briefly stops about every 6in...like hitting a speed bump.
With the video it also stutters every few seconds. I notice it also with
the new vista screensavers.
I'm running RC2 with a microsoft driver for my card. I've looked on
Nvidia's website and tried their new drivers, but nvidia didn't recognize my
gpu. And of course sony was useless.

I would appreciate any help with this issue.

thanks

Hey... I had that exact same problem. Apparently, nVidia doesn't release
video drivers for laptops. The allow the manufacturer to do it.

In any case, I found a solution and it fixed my "shutter effect" problem. In
fact, it increased my performance 3x times the original base score.

Read the info carefully because it tells you exactly what you need to do get
the Vista nVida beta drivers to work. I did it and it solved the problem.

Could you give me a more specific url that will take me to the sony section
of their site?

This is not a "Sony" issue. This is an nVidia GeForce driver issue. The
link I provided below explains how to install the latest nVidia GeForce
drivers using a modified ".INF" file. The .INF file was created by
www.laptopvideo2go.com

See... when you try to installed the lastest Vista Beta nVidia GeForce
drivers, you get an error. When you take the .INF file from the website and
replace the one from nVidia, it will find your video driver and install.

Hope this helps,

Yosh

Ok, I tried it and it worked. The stuttering effect is gone.

Thanks,

But I couldn't get my score to increase. It still says 2.2. It shouldn't
be that low should it?
