Graphics card

Hi,
I'm wanting to get a new graphics card, I'm not a serious gamer, butI do
want to be able to play most things... I have a nVidia GeForce4 Ti 4200 AGP
8X now. Just a few things that I want to clear up first;
why do I want VIVO?
is ATI or nVidia or ATI better or is there not really any diference?
some nVidia cards have Turbo, why do I want this?
Any other advice or points I should consider?

You don't mention the type of games that you do play nor the resolution that
you like to run them at. And whilst the Ti4200 is not the latest or the best
it is still a very capable card that many people are using to fulfil the
requirements that you want.

Your machine spec and budget is also a factor to help people to help you.

why do I want VIVO?

I haven't got a clue why you want it.

I don't really play games, occasionally Rise Of Nations or something like
that, NOTHING graphics intensive.

it is still a very capable card that many people are using to fulfil the
requirements that you want.

The Ti4200 is my Bosses and I think he'll be wanting it back soon.

Your machine spec and budget is also a factor to help people to help you.

AGP 8X I think, it's a relatively new P4.

I haven't got a clue why you want it.

Isn't it video-in? but what do I do with video in, can I like watch TV on my
PC or will I need something like a pinical TV Tuner card for that?

A Nvidia 5200 "Ultra" is a good bang for the buck card.
Ultras have 128 bit wide memory pathways,
most 5200s only have 64 bit wide memory pathways.
The two ATI's you are looking at are a little bit older design.
If you want ATI, at least get a 9600.

Take my advice, from experience, stay away from ATI! They are very
fickle, and though they do work okay when you get the right drivers, the
biggest problem I have always had was that each card is specific to it's
drivers... where-as I have 4-systems, each with a totally different
nVidia card, from 8mb vram to 256mb vram, and I can put ANY of the cards
into ANY of the systems, and the cards ALL use the same drivers!! One
system even has Win98se, and it "still" works after a simple reboot once
the card is swapped!
