Windows XP graphics card info?

hello everybody, i'm a new member. Just a little about myself first, I'm 35 and suddenly found myself interested with how the computer works, rather than how to work the computer. I think i'm having a mid life crisis at the moment because i'm seriously considering studying to gain IT qualifications (big time)...
anyway allow me to contradict myself..... i'm after info on how to show my graphics card details from say the start menu....? (ie) without pausing on bootup. can i look at my graphics card (ie) card type/memory/port/driver (etc). any help would be greatly appreciated.
