graphics and links not loading / websites not responding

HELP>>>>I have spent three hours on the Microsoft
website, I am having difficulty with explorer 6 on
windows 98. Webpages are not displaying correctly, I get
no graphics and only the x in the box icon for links to
other pages on the websites and the links don't work. I
cannot navigate anywhere on the web, except the msn
homepage. Can anyone direct me on what I should be doing
to fix this problem? It has been happening for a month
now...arrgh
