Graphic card & display of All programs

Hi, I use WindowsXP-SP2
1. searching for more performance of a laptop graphic card. Would it be
improved by installing power DVD software? No exterior card can't be added!
2. prefering a separate arborescent display for All Programs not mixed
(overload) with the Start menu. Perhaps anyone has an idea. Thanks in
advance.
