Gradient Fills and "Save as Picture" or Cut/Paste special

Hi,

I've been using powerpoint to create complex drawings which I want
to insert into word. I've been copying the images and using paste
special/enhanced metafile to insert them into word. I'm having trouble
with some of the objects that have a "from centre" gradient fill - they
are coming out "blochy" (I would attach a screen short, but it won't let
me for some reason). If I "save as picture", then import into word the
result is the same. It also looks the same if I open the resulting file
in windows fax and image viewer. Strangely if I re-import into
powerpoint it looks fine.

Has anyone ideas how to deal with this?

This problem is caused by the file format you try to use. Enhanced Metafile
is mainly a vector format and cannot store gradients very well. They are
split up into blocks. Try using PNG format instead.

That worked great thanks. I can even get it as a functioning emf b
cut/paste special the resulting slide object ... weird.
