save-as picture cuts off bottom of slide

I've saved a PP2007 slide as a .png or .emf to then insert as a picture into
Word2007 document. The very bottom of the image gets "cropped" in the
resulting picture file.

I tried adding a text box with words below the lowermost autoshapes in the
slide thinking that maybe PP needed to "see" something below them to not cut
off their bottom edge. (I planned to crop this out out once in inserted into
Word.) It made no difference. I also added fill and a line to this text box:
also no change.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

thank you

Could not reproduce with my PPT 2007. What type of default printer do you
have selected? Some times with Microsoft programs that will make a
difference.

Have you possibly changed the size of the slide "page"? If so go back to
the default and see what happens.

I tried one last time and found an unshaded/ no-line text box with words in
it below the autoshapes DID result in the autoshapes bottoms being visible
now. (I swear...first attempt was not this result. Sigh.)

My question still stands however: why is PP2007 cropping off the bottom of
the slide's resulting image file. (Now the text box words are being partially
cut off instead of the autoshapes as happened earlier.)

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Good question. I can not see where the old "about" went to in PP2007 to find
the version/service pack info.

When I go to All Programs> Accessories> System Information> System Tools>
System Sumary it shows under Office 2007 Applications for power point:

Version 12.0
Build 6504

Is Build 6504 another way to refer to Service Pack?

No change to default slide set up (10 wide x 7.5 tall). Default printer was
set to a black & white networked laser printer.

I continue to experiment. What I am noticing is an Acrobat PDF file created
using the print dialog produced a non-cutoff image (after deleting the extra,
unneeded text box at the slide's bottom). Creating a .png of the same .pptx
slide WITH the unneeded text box at the slide's bottom produces a cut-off
image. Then, I deleted the unneeded text box and saved again as .png. NOW the
bottom most part of autoshapes are NOT cut off. To fit the unneeded text box,
I did have to move all autoshapes up a little bit. So, maybe there are
certain slide boundaries involved when saving as a picture file.

Hmmm.....the plot thickens.

Shyam, thanks for this suggestion. I just got through getting this Service
Pack 2 installed and am consistently having better results when I save-as
..png picture. Pictures are not cut-off.

Namaste

thank Michael. I wondered where that info was moved to. I'll look in Word
Options>Resources next time I need this.
