gpresult.exe (version differences???)

Did Microsoft update gpresult.exe with new features for
Windows XP? I notice that there are only 4 parameters
available for the one in Windows 2000. The website for
Windows XP indicates additional parameters that you can
use as well. So did Microsoft come out with a new version
of gpresult.exe when XP was released?

The version that comes with XP is 2.0 and it's based on RSoP. It's
'remoteable' (i.e. you can target it at other machines) as compare to V1.0
found in Windows 2000.

One important thing to take note is that the RTM version contain some bugs
and will not display registry settings. You need to install it again from
the Support Tools in XP SP1 to get the one that's working properly.

If your clients are on Windows XP, I would encourage you to use GPMC
instead. It's graphical based and allows you to do all your GPO management
at one place.
