GPO not responding to added registry key

M

MireLanksi

I am in a Windows 2003 environment. I am using win 2k
resource kit. And I
am doing all of this from an XP Pro machine.

I created an OU for testing purposes. I have only my
computer name and
username in the OU. I have successfully edited the
computer configuration
(i.e made general tab from IE 6 disappear) and the user
configuration. But I
cannot get my local PC to add a registry key to the local
registry. I input
my registry changes at Computer Configuration>Windows
Settings>Registry.

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Screen Saver.Logoff

That is the key name. It is a key for a screen saver. I
am unsure if that
is the only key I will need to make the screen saver work
but, I can't even
get the key to show up in my local registry. The big
picture is this. I am
using winexit.scr for automatic logoff. I need registry
entries added to the
computers in that are in the OU. Every other change to
the OU group policy
is successful accept the registry. And yes I have tried
gpupdate /force and
tried to reboot.

Any help would be much appreciated.
